Transcript: Episode 2: Contextualize Massage and Bodywork Modalities

Anatomy and Physiology Podcasts

These are some of my favorite Podcasts. All of these podcasts can be found on iTunes. I have included links to websites with direct downloads when possible.
  1. Dr. Gerald Cizadlo
Dr. Cizadlo does an amazing job of explaining physiological processes! I find Dr. Cizadlo's lectures on the circulatory and lymphatic systems to be particularly illuminating.

  2. The Brain Science Podcast by Dr. Ginger Campell
Dr. Campell interviews leading experts (many are neuroscientists) about topics which receive a lot of attention in popular media, like functional MRIs and mirror neurons. Neuroscience is an exciting, interdisciplinary field. Check it out!

There are too many great episodes to mention them all, but massage practitioners might want to check out:
Episode #44 Meditation and the Brain
    Episode #36 Embodied Intelligence
Episode #35 A Closer Look at Mirror Neurons

  3. Human Physiology with Professor von der Ohe (Fall 2009 audio and video)
Human Physiology with Professor von der Ohe (Spring 2010 audio and video)
I find Professor von der Ohe's style to be direct and upbeat.
Also available through iTunes U via Santa Monica College.

Health and Wellness Podcasts

These are some of my favorite Podcasts. All of these podcasts can be found on iTunes. I have included links to websites with direct downloads when possible.
  1. Mind Body Connection - UCTV (iTunesU)
The episodes in this podcast offer a combination of interviews and lectures by experts in the field of mind-body connection.

  2. My Thought Coach
My Thought Coach has some nice, free meditations and affirmations.

Assessment and Treatment Podcasts

These are some of my favorite Podcasts. All of these podcasts can be found on iTunes. I have included links to websites with direct downloads when possible.
  1. Spinal Examination and Rehabilitation - Michael Buck
Ithica College Physical Therapy - iTunes U

  2. Musculoskeletal Examination and Evaluation - Hilary Greenberger
Ithica College Physical Therapy - iTunes U

Pathology Podcasts

These are some of my favorite Podcasts. All of these podcasts can be found on iTunes. I have included links to websites with direct downloads when possible.
  1. Biology 3020 - Dr. Gerald Cizadlo - Lectures on Pathophysiology
These lectures go in more detail than massage practitioners need to know. However, Dr. Cizadlo does such a great job of explaining things that you might want to take the extra time to really understand Pathology. Check out his Physiology lectures, too (link above).
